Meet our new DevOps Engineer, Jacob Tidwell, who comes to us from our own backyard: Columbus, Ohio. He will help streamline our operations by building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our machine learning API. We are obviously very happy to have Jacob join our team!
What's your guilty pleasure?
Baking. People who know me say in my past life I was a baker. At home I enjoy coming up with new ideas for things to bake; sometimes they turn out well and sometimes they don't, but it's fun to experiment! An added bonus is I get to use my girlfiend as a taste tester (she does not always enjoy that).
If given a chance, who would you be for a day and why?
That's a tough one, but I would say my cat "Molly." I've often wondered what goes on in her mind and what the world is like to her. I think it would help me get to the bottom of why she enjoys eating my headphone cords.
What's one thing on your bucket list?
To travel the world. Growing up we didn't get to travel often due to my father's job, so I swore when I grew up I would travel all around the world. I would love to be one of those people who get to see "every country before they die."
What are you excited about at Nexosis?
A lot, especially getting to work with a team of people driven to create an awesome API. I get to work with some really smart people who are great at what they do. I also feel like I get to have a helping hand in building up our API as DevOps Engineer. The team feels very inclusive and has been very welcoming. Overall, this is an awesome place to work and I can't wait to see how my career here will unfold as time goes along.
